PFD was paged for an outlet smoking in a residence. Upon arrival PFD crews found an outlet smoking but no fire present. PFD crews did some further investigation and deemed the structure safe. PFD reported minimal damage and no injuries were reported.
PFD has been paged to 5 grass/field fires in the last week. No injuries or property damage occurred.
PFD was paged for mutual aid by Tallula Fire for a machine shed fire off of Knoles Road in rural Petersburg. Tallula and Petersburg Fire extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.
PFD and multiple other agencies responded to Athens to assist with a structure fire which resulted in a fatality.
PFD was paged to a mutual aid fully involved structure fire around 8:30pm Sunday night. Upon arrival PFD and Rural fire units saw flames showing from multiple mobile home structures and also encountered exposed propane tanks. Units were able to quickly extinguish the fire and control the exposed propane tanks to help prevent further damage. PFD units cleared the scene around 11:00pm on Sunday night.
PFD was paged to a structure fire around 9:00 pm on Friday January 31st at the Old School apartment complex located on Seventh Street in Petersburg. Upon arrival, responding units found heavy fire and smoke coming from the West side of the structure. Within minutes the fire had spread to the entire apartment complex. PFD was assisted by several mutual aid agencies from the area and remained on scene until approximately 1:00 pm the following day.
PFD was dispatched this morning at 3:15am to a report of a fully involved structure fire in Petersburg. Huge thanks to all of the mutual aid departments that assisted! Petersburg Rural Fire, Athens Fire, Menard County Rescue Squad, Menard County EMS, Petersburg PD & Ameren were all in attendance To lend a helping hand. No injuries were reported.
PFD responded to a two vehicle accident this morning around 7:45 AM to find both vehicles fully involved. Thanks to the help of the Petersburg Police Department, Menard County Rescue squad, Petersburg Rural Fire and the Menard County Sheriff’s Department the fires were extinguished quickly, and we are happy to report there were no serious injuries.

PFD responded to a mobile home that was fully engulfed in Petersburg. PFD had mutual aid assistance from Athens Fire, Petersburg Rural and Menard Co. Rescue Squad.

PFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident on Route 97 mutual aid for Petersburg Rural Fire Department. Menard County Rescue Squad and Menard EMS also were at the scene assisting.
PFD was paged for a possible structure fire around 12:30 am Monday morning. Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke coming from the exterior of the strucutre. PFD found the source of the fire and quickly extinguished it. Crews remained on scene for salvage and overhaul operations. The fire was isolated to the living room area of the house so the residents were not displaced. Great work by all involved.
PFD was paged for mutual aid assistance for a structure fire in rural Petersburg. Upon arrival heavy flame and smoke was showing through the roof. Both departments worked together to extinguish the blaze in a timely manner. Great job by all who assisted!
