PFD responded to a mutual aid structure fire at Lake Petersburg with Petersburg Rural early this morning. Tallula Fire, Menard EMS and the Menard Co. Rescue Squad also assisted. Occupants of the residence made it out safely and no injuries were reported.
PFD was page for mutual aid assistance to a structure fire in Athens. Upon arrival PFD crews assisted Athens with fire attack and overhaul. PFD was released by Athens once the fire was considered under control.

PFD was paged for a vehicle fire off of 6th Street in Petersburg. Engine 1 arrived on scene to a box truck that had the engine compartment fully engulfed. Engine 1 crews initiated a quick attack and had the vehicle extinguished in minutes.

PFD responded to a call of a motor vehicle engulfed in flames on February 5th. Upon arrival, Engine 1 crew found a pickup truck to be fully involved in the engine and cab compartment of the truck. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and prevented further spread.

PFD was dispatched for mutual aid with Petersburg Rural Fire this afternoon for a large brush and trash fire. Rural Fire made initial attack with PFD assisting upon arrival. Great job to everyone preventing fire extension into the abandoned structure!

PFD assisted Rural Fire this morning on a mutual aid call at the PORTA High School for a report of an active fire in progress. Menard County Sheriff’s Department, Menard County EMS and Tallula Fire were all on scene.

PFD responded to a possible dryer fire early this morning. Upon arrival PFD found the fire was extinguished prior to arrival. PFD investigated and deemed the residence safe. A female resident was transported to hospital for minor burns.

PFD along with multiple other agencies assisted Petersburg Rural FPD with a machine shed fire this afternoon. This makes over 200 calls for service by PFD for the year. Thanks to all departments involved.

PFD was paged for an outlet smoking in a residence. Upon arrival PFD crews found an outlet smoking but no fire present. PFD crews did some further investigation and deemed the structure safe. PFD reported minimal damage and no injuries were reported.

PFD responded to a fully involved garage fire in Petersburg. PFD and multiple surrounding departments were able to contain the fire to the building of origin without any fire spread. The cause of fire is undetermined at this time.

PFD was on scene to extinguish a structure fire this morning of a vacant home. The residence was considered a total loss and there were no injuries reported.
PFD has been paged to 5 grass/field fires in the last week. No injuries or property damage occurred.
PFD was paged for mutual aid by Tallula Fire for a machine shed fire off of Knoles Road in rural Petersburg. Tallula and Petersburg Fire extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.

PFD was paged to a mutual aid fully involved structure fire around 8:30pm Sunday night. Upon arrival PFD and Rural fire units saw flames showing from multiple mobile home structures and also encountered exposed propane tanks.

PFD was paged to a structure fire around 9:00 pm on Friday January 31st at the Old School apartment complex located on Seventh Street in Petersburg. Upon arrival, responding units found heavy fire and smoke coming from the West side of the structure.
